BECOME A SCREENER OR JUDGE FOR THE 1261 GRENADA FILM FESTIVAL.
We're seeking dedicated volunteer Screeners and Judges for our 6th edition of the 1261 Grenada Film Festival! If you love film and can commit to at least 8 hours of screening monthly, we want you.
Responsibilities:
Watch and evaluate 4 hours of film per month.
Provide ratings and reviews for each film.
Ensure films meet our submission guidelines.
Watch shorts entirely and features at least halfway through (preferably fully).
Extra Responsibilities for Judges:
Join the Programming Committee.
Attend three festival events during the submission season.
Help decide the final programming and schedule.
Select awards for winning films.
Attend monthly committee meetings (weekly in July/August).
Qualifications:
Reliable with deadlines.
Ability to articulate likes and dislikes about films.
Understand our mission and values.
Preferred: connection to the LGBTQ+ community.
Strong knowledge of film and film theory is a plus.
Time Commitment:
4-12 hours of screening per month from January to July.
4 hours during the Festival in the Fall (optional).
1-2 hours for the Annual Meeting in the Fall (optional).
Perks:
Screeners receive two festival tickets.
Judges receive a festival pass.
Confidentiality and Ethics:
Judges cannot submit films to the festival this year.
Avoid judging films with personal connections.
Recuse yourself from films you cannot judge impartially.
