OTOTEMAN
In this renewed, edited and improved filmic version, each performance of the triptych was shot on a slave cemetery — or as I prefer to call them, a mass grave — in Guadeloupe (French West Indies).
This performance aims at raising awareness about those territories where still lay thousands, millions of bodies, desecrated through ages, desintegrating over centuries, under the earth, the soil, the sand... Forgotten forever, without sepulchres,
without memories, without history.
When Mother Nature, in their great generosity and clearsight, through the earthquakes, or responding to our irresponsibility towards them and the ecologies we unbalance and erode, enables those mass graves to re-emerge, causing traumatic reflexes in us, forcing the governing bodies to take a stance, it should be seen as a blessing.
