A companion to the 1261 Grenada Film Festival, SheCreates is a residency and production lab for Caribbean women filmmakers.

While the festival showcases films from across the diaspora, SheCreates develops the women behind the lens.

Together, they form a pipeline of discovery, development, and celebration, grounded in culture and made for the world.

Part of the Creative Caribbean Programme (UNESCO, CARICOM & UWI). Supported by the European Union and the ACP-EU Culture Programme.

  • It was an absolute honour to have Wax Print premiere in the Caribbean at the inaugural 1261 Grenadian Film Fest. From acceptance to screening, I was treated with genuine respect.

  • What an incredible celebration of Caribbean stories! Meschida Philip and her team have created something truly special. I’m so grateful Bankie Banx: King of the Dune had its Caribbean premiere here—thank you to everyone involved!

  • Really delighted to have my film shown at 12°N, 61°W, the team was kind and supportive from all the way across the globe, I hope to attend in person one day in the future.
